Site Develpment Plan
We are going with and old west, pioneer village motif that will be developed and expanded as we build. The eventual goal is to have facilities to accommodate 200 people overnight.
Existing Facilities:
- 170 acres, including the 90-acre lake
“Dew Drop Inn” for meeting and dining
- 64 beds (eight air-conditioned covered wagon sleepers)
- Two bath houses
- Lake and boat house
- Pool and pool house
- Tennis and basketball courts
- Two staff cottages
- Playground
- Hiking trails
Top 10 projects, listed in order of priority:
- Complete renovations/repairs to the Dew Drop Inn, pool house and bath houses
- Complete/Repair/Replace ball fields, fencing, trails and playground
- Add pavilion to and convert current Director’s cabin into Activity Center
- Complete beach area
- Build two pavilions/tent platforms to increase sleeping capacity by 16, to 80
- Acquire cabins in center of property that are privately owned
- Build maintenance building
- Build gazebo/lifeguard station at end of peninsula
- Build permanent clinic facility to sleep 8, plus the nurse
- Build small “Town Hall” meeting area to seat 80
Other items can be added when one is completed.
Requirements before beginning a project:
- Project must be in the top four of the Board-approved list of priorities
- Project must be fully funded (cash already in the bank), plus 20% for cost overruns
- Project must have one person in charge, committed to bringing it to completion
- Project plan must be approved by the Director and at least two other Board members if the value is less than $5,000. The entire Board must approve the plan if the value is over $5,000.
