Purpose
The purpose of Camp Charis
is to provide overnight camping experiences for children, teens and adults
where the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is taught, demonstrated and encouraged
in daily living.
Camp Charis
is a Bible-centered, non-denominational mission to
children and teens. Charis is the Greek word for “grace” or “the divine influence on the
heart, and its reflection in the life.” Since its beginning in 1992, the camp
has served over 2000 campers and volunteers. Started by the ministry of Child
Evangelism Fellowship, we were known as Camp Good News from 1992-2002. The name
was changed to Camp Charis upon becoming an independent ministry in 2002. Camp Charis
is a 510(c)3 non-profit organization supported primarily by tax-deductible
gifts from churches, businesses and individuals.
Camp Charis
is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
with children from all backgrounds and walks of life, encouraging them to a
life of dedication and service to our Lord Jesus Christ.
